We stayed at the Misty Mountain Lodge and really enjoyed it. The cabin had more than enough space for my family of 6 and was very clean. We really enjoyed the movie theater, pool, and air hockey tables. This cabin is located in a very quiet area just outside of Gatlinburg. It's only a short 10 minute drive to town. We have stayed in several different log cabin resorts in the past, but the Elk Springs Resort is one of the easiest cabins to get to. We will be back.
Our group of 11 fit nicely in this cabin but if you have people who have trouble with steps there is no bathroom on main floor. Whenever we needed maintenance to fix the game or replace the stove light they were on spot service. This was our first cabin to rent so we learned a few things. The customer service was always very helpful and friendly to come to our aid.
Our cabin is not only beautiful, but it has everything. Plus it is well stocked, from dishes & cookware to paper products. We have a heart shaped Jacuzzi tub in our bedroom & a hot tub large enough for 6 on the deck. This place is wonderful for a honeymoon, but it'd be great, as well for a family. The upstairs has queen sized bunk beds & a pool table upstairs.
Great place to stay. Adults can relax and enjoy the outdoors on the porches, while the kids can play games or watch a movie in the theater. Close enough to Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge, but still have the away from town feeling. Loved being able to be in the National park in matter of minutes. Family liked it better than the beach. Only issue was bathrooms were a little small, but terrible.
Cannot comment on the price as we were invited to share a vacation with family, however cabins were clean, stocked with dishes, appliances (washer/drier, dishwasher, fridge, stove, oven, microwave), and situated between Gatlinburg and pigeon forge and pet friendly. Family had a great time, only complaint was proximity to other cabins (noise and such can be annoying with louder/rowdy neighbors) which was well hidden in the pictures on their website.
Elk springs is an awesome community with very nice views. The cabins are well maintained, beautiful, and spacious. Steep hills will call for 4x4 vehicles when snow falls. Great place for vacation.
The overall experience vacationing in Gatlinburg,TN and staying at the Bear Cub Lodge was amazing. Gatlinburg ,TN is absolutely beautiful and I highly recommend visiting. The cabin was much more than expected, in fact the cabin looked just like the pictures on the website. It was clean, the rooms are large, cozy and comfortable. I didn't want to leave the cabin, but my daughter insisted we tour the city. We loved sitting on the deck, using the hot tub, game room and watching the large screen projector. The kitchen was fully furnished with everything you needed. The Management Staff was extremely friendly, professional and prompt to assist with our request. I will never forget this experience and can't wait to plan our next trip and stay at Bear Cub Lodge.
The cabin was beautiful. The only issue is toiletries are not stocked, so make sure you head to town to get tissue. You have to pay for extra towels from the office so bring detergent to wash.
